Date Format

Does anybody know of a way to change the format of dates in Outlook
2002? Currently when I enter a date such October 9, 1978, it
automatically reverts to Mon 10/9/1978. I would like something like
09-Oct, preferably without the year. Any suggestions? Thanks people,
and I'm a newbie posting for the first time in a group, so thanks for
the help.

The date format shown in Outlook is controlled by the Long Date Format under
Control Panel, Regional Settings. (depending on your version of Windows)

Thanks Milly, I followed your advice, and it got most of what I was
looking for, the second part that I hope for, but suspect is not
possible, is for a date that will allow me to input only two numbers,
the date and the month, but not the year (I want to export my list to
others and some do not want their birth year revealed). Right now I
can enter 09-Oct, but since I don't enter a number for the year, it
automatically inserts '2004'. Is there any way to remove this, if not
in Outlook, then automatically when I export to a .csv file? Thanks
for the help.
