Date Format

I want to validate the data in columns on my genealogy worksheets for date entries in proper format. DD MMM YYYY. The Month will be a 3 letter abbreviation for the month. I formatted the cells for date, then I applied data validation. As long as the date is after 1900 I have no problem. If the date is before 1900 I get an input error. Is there an add in for Excel 2003 to allow it to process dates prior to 1900. This is important in genealogy.

Hi
Excel does not support dates before 1.1.1900. If you need dates prior
to 1900 you have to store them as text values.

Short answer is no, Excel won't do that. You can download an add-in that will give you formulas that do it, though
