Date formats & Concatenate function

Hi
I have the following problem, I am using the concatenate
function to joined data from various cells; however some
of the cells contain dates. When in their original cells
they are formatted to show as dates, but in the cell
showing the concatenate function result they show as
serial numbers.
Is there a way I can force the serial number within the
function to show as a date

=TEXT(A1,"d-mmm-yyyy")
