Date formats in Office vX & 2004

In Word vX and 2004 when I try to insert a date, the dates that are
listed are the US mm/dd/yy formatted dates. The problem I have is that
I want dd/mm/yy to be the format of the date inserted.

The same goes for Excel vX and 2004, when I try to format a
cell/column/row to a date format, the only formats listed are again the
mm/dd format and dd/mm is not even listed under the date section. I
have to go down to custom to get the dd/mm formats.

I am currently using 10.3.4 and my International System Preference is
set to Australian.

How about in Entourage? Entourage always uses the same system date
preferences you have set, so if they're not correct either you have a
problem in System Preferences/International. If so, go there, choose Formats
tab, and look carefully at all the Date and Time settings, changing
accordingly. You'll need to relaunch Entourage (and other Office apps) to
take effect there.

However, Word at least lets you set customized formats for date, at least
when using Insert/Date. There should be lots of options there, but I see
that they've _still_ kept, in 2004, the misleading checkbox that lets you
think you can set the default , but you can't really if the one you want is
not the standard one for your International settings. You have to do it by
macro. I'm not aware that Excel would let you set date formats in any prefs
(but I may be corrected) - it understands a lot of different date formats
but will display its standard version for your locale.

I really think you must have something set wrongly in International Formats.
Take a good look there first.

I don't use Entourage so I can tell you how it behaves.

Even when I Insert/Date, I don't get a dd/mm/yy listing only mm/dd/yy
formats.

I have my International Format set to Australian.

In Entourage Office 2004 when I set Brazil (Portuguese) in the
International System Preferences, all input dates are always set to December
month, although day and year are correct. This bug already was present in
Entourage Office X. How report this bug to Microsoft? Any workaround?

The best way to report a problem or bug is to use the Send Feedback under
the Help menu, and to include whatever details are necessary so that the
MacBU can attempt to reproduce it.

With luck someone on the Entourage ng where you also posted this can help
with a workaround.
