Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I transferd my excel documents from a windows computer to a mac. When I type a date in I want to see it as dd/mm/yy. But when I type 6/7 (july 6th) I see it appers the other way around as 7/6.
I checked the cell formating and it is formated right.
The cells above, which were crated on my old windows comp are ok too.
The Mac general date and time preferences are set right. Still I cant get this to work...

If I double clik on the cell I see it as it should be, but when I go to another cell it changes back to showing the month first.

Please help.

ok, sorry I think I solved it.
Apperntly my formats were custom instead of Dutch. after I changed that all is well.

I guess excel doesnt get the custom formats.

Make sure you have Office fully updated ‹ since you don't specify you update
level that is the first thing to suspect. Confirm that Excel 12.2.0 is
indicated in Excel> About Excel & that 12.2.1 is indicated as the latest
update applied. Repair disk permissions after applying any updates.

If that doesn't prove to be the problem you'll need to be more exact about
what the system settings and cell formatting are set to ‹ phrases such as
"formatted right" don't provide enough information.

Also, check the formatting of the pre-existing dates & compare it to the new
date cells. Indicate the findings in your reply.
