Date formats

When I enter dates into a cell (e.g. 1/3/03), and the cell
formatted to show 14 MAR 2003, the date is shwon as 3 Jan
2003, not 1st March 2003. I presume there is a problem
with the set up of excel or office. I'm running MS Office
2000. Can anyone help please.

I think it's actually a difference between the way you enter the date and the
way you told windows you'd use:

windows Start button|settings|control Panel|Regional Settings

Click on the Date tab and choose the short date style that you want to use.
