Date Formatting when Concantenating

I have a simple question. I have a cell that has date that looks lik
this:

10/15/1999 14:34

When I use the concantenate feature my date looks like this:

36448.6073611111

I tried to format the call every which way - but I cannot get it t
look the original.

Feeling really silly for even asking.. thanks all for your help
