Date formatting

I have several date fields, which may or may not be
applicable for a RECORDS database

Is there a way to mask the field such that "mm/dd/yyyy"
and "N/A" are valid input formats

Date fields should be just that... dates.
I'm not sure how you are setting up the form but if the date information is
not applicable for the record you are on, then I might suggest setting the
..ENABLE property of the control to FALSE.
