Date() function

Can someone tell me when the Date() function works sometimes in Access going
against an SQL database but at other times in an access database going
against another SQL database an error reports the function is unknown?

Does anyone understand when to use Date() or GetDate() in access when going
against SQL databases?

if you are using a pass-through query then GetDate() would be used. If you
are using a query against and ODBC connection and standard Access SQL then use
Date().

I believe that you would need to use GetDate with an ADP (Access Project).
