Date input format

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Although it says that Office displays the date time and number formats according to the international preferences of the MAC OS X, the input for dates in Excel is kept as in American English M/D/Y, is there a way to change the input to D/M/Y?
