Date Navigator Disappeared

My date navigator has disappeared from the calendar page.
I've looked for assistance on turning it back on, but no
success. Help doesn't even mention it - only the tutorial
says anything about it and then only gives you the name.

Any ideas?

Use your left mouse button to drag down the top horizontal
edge of task pad.

If you have my kind of rotten luck you'll have to do this
every time you start the calendar!
