Date Ranges

I have a database that is for a motel. I have a field called CheckInDate and
a field CheckOutDate as well as a field called RoomID where the room is
assigned to this date range. I want to do a form or report that will let me
know if a room is available for a specific date when someone calls into make
a reservation. How would I do this
