I am using win 98 and access 97. When I enter a date other than the default
date of today the year becomes 1904 instead of 2004.

Thanks in advance.

In the Win98 control panel in the Regional Settings applet there should be
an option to set how a 2 digit year is interpreted. Also, if this isn't
Win98SE, have you installed SP1 and, even if SE, the other updates
(http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com). SP1 had some Y2K fixes. There are also
service packs for Office 97. I believe SP2 is the newest with possibly some
additional patches. Also, the current level of Jet is 3.51 SP3.

I don't have an Access 97 computer handy to do any testing on, so I can't
help any more. I would also recommend using 4 digit years, if you aren't
already. If nothing else, it saves confusion and helps you catch errors such
as this one.
