Date Stamp on excel files change when just opening file enven if no change
and close without saving. This is not just the last read date it is the
created, Modified, and Accessed dates and times. This is a problems as the
modified date is used to sort files for most up to date, now the last read
appears to be newest.

Yes this is because Excel lies to you and cannot leave your data alone. This
is why it asks you to save changes to files it has just told you can only be
opened as read-only.

I think its extremely important that MS fix this ridiculous situation.
