Date/Time Query

I have a new database setup in MS Access 2002. There is a
field data type of Date/Time stored in one field. In
previous versions I could use the query Criteria of Date()
and it would insert the current date and run the query. My
previous DB had the date and time stored in seperate
fields. I can not control the application that is creating
the DB via ODBC. Any idea's for a work around to have the
system date inserted into the query?

Also, I also have a query that uses the Between function.
If I input the the dates of 8/12/03 and 8/16/03, the
results are 8/12/03 to 8/15/03. Why doesn't it return the
entire range? Once again this on the Date/Time data type
field.
