i have my date field set up as dd/mm/yyyy, i need it to show as this but
without the / as in 14022005. anyone know if and how this can be done please

this will not allow me to enter the date without the /, i want the user to
enter as dd/mm/yy but i want the field to hold it as ddmmyyyy (without the
slash)

Take a look at the "input mask" property -- there's a setting that let's you
use the slash, but doesn't store them.

But let me ask a different question. Access stores date/time values in an
internal format that doesn't look like a date at all. Why not use the
date/time field that Access provides and simply format the date for display
in your forms?

I can't find any setting in the 'input mask' that would allow me to use the
slash and not store them. Also, how do I display the date in internal
format, and does this not show me the date as a number as apposed to 01012005
(ie 1st jan 2005)? Thanks
