dates and currency

When completing a mail merge using office xp the
formatting of dates and currency from the excel
spreadsheet does not transfer onto the word document.
Can someone help please.

You need to do it as a DDE link. I think it defaults as
OLE and the formatiing does not come up. Have a look at

I have the same problem but the Select Data Source as
mentioned in the article does not appear when I select the
XLS. I am trying to find out why not.

or (if you use US date patterns in Australia) use a switch on the mergefield
to set the required data pattern.
This does not work well with UK date patterns.
