Dates change in X axis! Need help ASAP Please?

My dilemma is logarithmic charts. I can get the Y axis to do what I want,
but the X axis is more difficult. We need a true time X axis. Ex: 6/27/01,
12/7/01, 6/28/02, 3/04/03, etc. The dates are not equally separated.
Question 1: Can this be plotted? When I do create the chart, the dates all
change to Ex: 6/01/01, 12/01/01, 6/01/02., etc. The “day†switches to all
01. So frustrating. Question 2: How do I keep the dates true? Can you
help? There HAS to be a simple explanation, right?

If there truly is no pattern to the x-axis:
Under Chart options, can you change the x-axis to category? Note that this
will require that your raw data is in order, to be displayed correctly.

6/27/01
12/7/01
6/28/02
1/2/03
6/5/03
2/3/04, etc.

We need these as the x-axis, but showing spaces between the dates as real
time... not equally spaced. Is this possible?

Also... I was able to keep the dates true (not change from original dates to
6/01/01, 12/01/01, etc.). Now the questions is the spacing between the dates
as if they were true. They obviously don't read 2/2/99, 3/2/99, 4/2/99, etc.

I don't see anything close to "category" selection. Sorry!
