I have a range of data on a sheet in excel and I want to change that data to make it where all the days are listed under the month and then under the year. So if i have 8/01/2021, 8/02/2021 and 8/03/2021 then I want them all to fall under the Year 2021. I have done a filter but if i do that then i can't use a pivot table. Is there any way to take the data that I have now that is in a column and remove those items from it to create a table that has it listed by year.

Okay so you first added a column to the data Year-Month and formatted it in year-month. then you created the pivot table from that and used slicers as a tool to separate by year. Wow did not think of that, thank you for that suggestion. I appreciate it.

Okay, I can't figure something out, on the pivot table you have years. Where did this field come from? I have configured my data and then did a pivot table but it does not have that field years. Please explain where that field came from. Did you sort or filter the Year-month column?
