hi everyone,

just a quick one, I have a mail merge from an excel file,
but i want the new letters to have the date they were
created on them. I have tried using createdate field
from the insert menu, but this just uses the date that
the template was created from.

can anyone help?

Merge to a new document. The new document will display the date *it* was
created, regardless of what the template displays.

Yes, that's what I tried before but it still comes up
with the "original.doc" createdate.

I hope I didn't confused you, the original file is
a ".doc" file, not ".dot" template, does this make a
difference?
