Day Function (incorrect day)

Hi, I have a strange problem. When I try to implement the DAY function
on a specified date in another cell - it returns the incorrect day. For
example I have inputted this date: 01-05-06 into a cell and the DAY
function returns Sunday - which is incorrect and should be Monday.

Can anyone advise of a solution?

Hi Nelson,

When I put in day(01-05-06) I get 1.
That is the first day of may (Europe).

Where do you get the Sunday from? Is it the Output of DAY(01-05-06) ?

Dear friend,

Nice to share with Excel-mate in these forums.

Try =day(2006/5/1) , you will get what you need. the one you typed
day(01-05-06) may have been misunderstood as 2001/5/6 (this was correct -
Sunday).
