Day of the week

We have currently purchased MS Office XP and have
encountered a rather irritating problem. When opening the
calendar, the day of the week does not show up in the
heading. That is, the heading will show December 29 not
Monday December 29. Does anyone know of a way to adjust
the heading to reflect the day of the week?

This was possible in previous versions of Outlook. Is
there an update we are missing?

This setting is actually controlled by Windows. Go to Control Panel |
Regional and Language Options and change the Long Date format to include the
day of the week. You will need to add the "dddd" string for this if you
want the day of the week fully spelled out. For example, my Long Date
format for the U.S. looks like this:

dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy

and results in this:

Monday, December 29, 2003
