Day of week of specific date

I have 9/6/03 in A1. 9/7/03 in A2. How can I get B1 to
indicate Sat, B2 to indicate Sun, etc. As the A column of
dates will vary, I'd like a formula to look at the date in
any A cell, and return the day of the week in the adjacent
B cell.

or
=TEXT(A1,"dddd")
if you want the full name
