DST is fast approaching. Sunday, March 11, 2007

Some notes for exchange users that are experiencing problems after updating:
* Were your events created with v11.3.3, an earlier version of Entourage,
or even another client? I have found that v11.3.3 handles just about every
case properly, with or without the Mac OS X Tiger updates (i.e. with 10.4.4
as well as with 10.4.8 + DST Update).
* Are _all_ of your events off by an hour -- standalone, long duration,
all-day, recurring? If they all are, they might have been saved with an
unpatched client. If only some are, I suspect that the "rebasing" tool could
be the culprit. Or, if only the invites are, you might not have received
updated invitations from the organizers.
* Was the Microsoft Time Zone Data Update Tool run on your organization's
Exchange 2003 mailboxes, or was the standalone tool run on your account
through Outlook? We found that it actually rebased events so that they
displayed _incorrectly_ in Entourage, but only in extended daylight-saving
time.
More info on RIT campus readiness can be found at the URL below.
