Daylight Savings time change patch

On March 11, 2007 Daylight Savings time will kick in for most of the U.S.
and all of Canada. Optional patches are available for Windows XP systems,
but are not automatic. This is due to some possible problems with Office
Outlook. Does this apply to Office 2007?

If you use Outlook 2007, no patch is needed. For those using Outlook 2003 and
earlier, a patch should be availble now from Microsoft downloads:

I have since found that the Office patch to accommodate DST changes
(Microsoft Office Outlook Tool: Time Zone Data Update Tool for Microsoft
Office Outlook)
is available at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...33-B9C8-4652-9DD8-AE0F1AF62568&displaylang=en
and is only applicable to Office 2000, 2002 and 2003. You must apply the
Windows XP patch first, available here:

Outlook 2007 should detect the OS patch and update your Calendar
automatically the next time you launch Outlook. Mine did, anyway. It took a
while, however, so be prepared.

You are right. It took 22 minutes when it finally decided to do so.
Surprisingly it updated old calendar entries from 4 years ago.

Outlook 2007 should detect the OS patch and update your Calendar
automatically the next time you launch Outlook. Mine did, anyway. It took
a while, however, so be prepared.

the updater isn't going to just change new appointments - it's going to
process all of them.
