Daylight Savings Time

When entering timed event during daylight savings time for 2007 one
hour is automatically added to start and end times. When establishing
the event the times are correct. As soon as the event is saved, closed
and posted in the calendar the hour is added. This does not happen
before the second Sunday in March or after daylight savings time ends.

Please help!

Here's an earlier exchange on this very issue...

OK. Glad to know that it's being addressed, but I must point out that this
change was enacted into law on August 8, 2005 (Energy Policy Act of 2005),
which is around 4 or 5 MS Office updates ago.

On 8-10-06 9:45 PM, in article C1012F47.DA625%berkowit@spoof_silcom.com,

Yes, there has been a major change in when DST will start in 2007 in the US.
The change was only decided (by an Act of Congress, I think) several months
ago, long after Office 2004 shipped. I think that Apple may have already
updated the OS to accommodate the change, but Entourage has not yet done so.
MacBU knows about it, though, and are working on a change. You can expect an
update sometime - probably somewhere around the beginning of 2007 if not
before.

Thanks for the update but what is one supposed to do at this point? Do
you manipulate the time so it is 'right" when entered? When Entourage
gets around to fixing it will it affect already entered events? This is
sooooo basic, it's disappointing that it hasn't been fixed yet.

My guess would be to enter the event's time as usual, and wait for Microsoft
to release a patch. They are aware of the problem, so it shouldn't be too
long before they update Entourage.

I have been including the correct time within the Subject field of every
event itself. In other words, my 8pm Board Meeting is called "8pm Board
Meeting." I am shocked they didn't get around to this in the last year+
since the dates of DST changed. There must be plenty of people who plan
meetings and events 5 months ahead and are now dealing with this!
