I am trying to create the connection from within frontpage. I get this error
even when I create a new asp page and a database using the wizard. Once it
trys to create the connection, I get the error.

I want to use the Frontpage wizard to create the connection, I do not want
to use the manual connections. If I create a manual connection, will
frontpage allow me to create additional forms and connections to the
database?

Found out it was due to a corrupt MDAC installation. Had to search the
registry for exceptioncomponents and delete all the values in the key. Then I
reinstalled MDAC and everything works just great.

HTH someone else :)
