DB connector to Project files?

Is there an ADO.NET, Ole-DB or ODBC connector to the sharepoint data
files?

Since you are probably asking about Project Server, best to re-ask on

Hi;

Actually we're being asked about this for the desktop version - they
want to hit the .mpp file as a SQL database. Is that possible?

I'm not aware this easily possible with 2007 as they have withdrawn this
sort of capablity. Project 2003 had more database connection
capability. I guess they are nudging people to server.

There may be ways to "kludge it", e.g. get the Project data loaded into
SharePoint lists (via say ProjectPublisher) and then use SQL query
technology from there. I don't have any recent experience in that.
Perhaps the folks in the other group microsoft.public.project.developer
has people who may know of recent capabilities.
