DB Documenter

Hi.

In Access 97 you could run the DB Documenter tool and then save the results
as an Object Definition table for reporting on. I cannot seem to do this in
Access 2003. Can this still be done?

Cheers,
Steve.

Is Tools > Analyze > Documenter what you seek? It generates a report, or
you can export the data to a variety of formats.

Hi.

Yes, it is the Tools > Analyze > Documenter I am trying to use.

In Access 97 there was the option to save the report as a table, but it does
not seem to be there.

I have tried exporting to Excel, but it didnt give me the tables in the
Output!!

Thanx,
Steve.

I know that you can export to an existing table in a mdb file, but I don't
know how to go about that. If I save the documenter output it is to a
snapshot file. Exporting to something like a spreadsheet or table will
probably be clumsy since the export format relies so heavily on spaces
rather than tabs and such.

When I typed "microsoft public access" documenter export access table

into Google Groups I got a number of hits. Jeff Conrad's reply in the
second one may be helpful:

I mention that it is the second one in case the link doesn't work.

Thats Spot on!

Its amazing how MS drop such useful features, in 'improved' versions of
their applications.
