DB result

Hi
On one page I have a searchfield and a dbresult and one more form that
contains a button that posts the searchfield to another page. If the
dbresult is "No records returned." a hit on the button should open another
page and post the value from the searchfield to the new page so long it´s no
problem, but if the result returns a record from the db I want the button
to be disabled, is there anyone know if this is possible.
