DBF files in 2008

Another downgrade in 2008:
What happened to support for DBF files? Office 04 did a great job of opening and saving them.

Yeah no joke, all GIS files are stored as DBF. Now I have to jump through hoops to get data out.

Hi,

I sorta doubt this will work, but what happens if you change the .dbf
extension to .txt? Will Excel open it?

So, Microsoft, will you add this function back in? DBF is a very, very common format. Otherwise, why not just run Calc?
