Hi
I am successfully using MS Excel to DDE Link from a 3rd party software
called Tenfore Quotespeed (basically a real-time share price application). A
link such as =SAT|Realtime!'ESX7N5975.lio LastPrice' in any Excel cell will
directly pull that price into an Excel spreadsheet cell.
Now I need these prices in Access. While it is possible to pull the Excel
sheet as a "linked table" into Access, the performance (e.g. of queries
containing that linked Excel table) is significantly diminishing with each
added entry in the original Excel sheet.
As I need to have approximately 50-100 simultaneous price pulls, I was
wondering how I can get these prices directly into Access without going
through MS Excel.
It appears that I can not directly appoint the abovementioned link
=SAT|Realtime!'ESX7N5975.lio LastPrice' as a field parameter, correct? Any
ideas how this - having the price as a field value updated once a query is
run or the underlying table is opened - can be achieved even with 3rd party
software (obviously without the MS Excel performance issues).
Thanks in advance for your assistance
Regards,
