I will take a look at that page.. do you know how I enable DDE offhand in
Office 2007? I used to know where it was in 2003, but haven't used it in
awhile.

Didn't the previous message say enough:

To connect via DDE in Word 2007, check Microsoft
Office Button|Word Options|Advanced|General|"Confirm File format conversion
upon open" then go through the process of opening your data source again.

DDE itself is part of Windows and would typically be enabled by default
unless someone had removed the necessary DLLs
