Dealing with Attachment.Position in RTF Messages

I am trying (successfully) to prepend text to the body of the outgoing email,
however the placement any embedded attachments (when the message is in RTF
format) are not automatically adjusted when the text is added.

When looking at the .Position property of each attachment, I notice some odd
values which do not directly correspond to the attachment's true position,
and modifying the .Position value to account for the length of the prepended
text does not solve my problem... (I've search in vain for documentation
describing the designed behavior of this property as it pertains to such
modification.)

Ideas? Thanks!
