I'm having the same problem--a "runtime" error. And when it
closes, I reopen it and it's fine. I don't get it either.

Yeah, I also have Norton Firewall along with Internet
Security and AntiVirus. Sometimes, when disabling the
entire Norton Internet Security program I will not have
this problem, but it doesn't fix it all the time. I did
read an article through Norton that the Windows XP firewall
can conflict with the Norton. It's located under your
Control Panel under Network Connections. You right click on
your connection, go to Properties, and then the Advanced
tab. The first option should be UNchecked to disable the
Windows firewall so that it won't conflict with Norton.
Mine is already disabled but I'm also having OTHER problems
using the internet (connection refused when trying to
contact--[website]). They had me shut off each individual
security setting in Norton, restart, try the web again and
then reinstall and go to the next setting to find out which
one was causing the problem. It turned out NONE of them
were causing it so they had me uninstall and reinstall my
entire Norton software bundle. I'm STILL having the same
problems. It's extremely frustrating that no one seems to
have an answer for this! <:(

The problem is caused by the Norton AntiSpam-plugin (included in Norton Internet Security).
Until Symantec updates this component the only way to disable the AntiSpam function completely is to rename the file "msouplug.dll".
If you give it a new name like "msouplug.dll.old" it will be easy for you to find it at a later time when a permanent solution to the problem has been released.
(The file mentioned can be found in the folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\Antispam\")
