Debugging Error ?!?

I just installed MS Office for teachers and students on my computer and now I
get a "debugging error" and am unable to open WORD and PowerPoint documents
in the online class I am creating.
I will not download any service packs b/c last time I did it wiped out the
hard drive on my computer. What's going on? What is the debugging error?
