Decending in a query to report

I have a report based on a query that has a
field "descending" on the date. But when I preview the
report or print it, the date is out of order and not
descending.
I dont know what I am doing wrong. I have re-done the
report and the query to no avail. Any suggestions?

Look at your report Grouping and sorting section. You may
have another property's sort turned on

In a report, you need to specify the sort in the "Sorting and Grouping" dialog,
accessible via a button on the toolbar or under the "View" menu.
