Decimal points dropped during Importing

When I import a text file into Access 2003, any field that
I have decimal points are imported as whole numbers. Exp1
1.00 is imported into Access as 100. When I import the
same text file into Excel, the numeric values are preserved
and any number that has a decimal point in it will be
imported correctly. Is there work around ?? What I'm I
dojng wrong ?? Thanks
