Decision Support Objects & MDAC

Hello,

We're installing medium scale deployment of Project Server with separate
servers for

Project Server Software
SQL
WSS

I've got two versions of the installation instructions in hand. One from
the MOC class I attended and the other down loaded from the MSFT website.
The MOC class instructions say to install decsion support objects & MDAC on
DC's. I can't cross reference this with the web site installation guide.
Does a medium scale deployment in a AD domain reqiure DSO/MDAC on DC's?
