dedicated tables and other such form-to-table issues

Hi! I'm currently developing an invoicing system via
Access. This system is mainly to track what customers
order what, for how much, and to whom the invoices are
shipped to, etc. and I think what I have is a problem, or
it might just be my lack of Access knowledge...
this 'problem' is that I'd like to create a table in which
everything from my main form (includes 3 references to
tables, 3 drop down boxes and a subform) gets tracked by
an order number (kind of like the Northwind example, but
I've been having problem modifiying that to fit my needs)
and then I can generate a more detailed report based on
that specific order #.

perusing the newgroup I found a few mentions to dedicated
tables. What are those and would they be useful in my
instance?
Thanks for you help in advance!
