Corrine Hayden

I will be merging two spreadsheets, and I would like to
know how I can get rid of duplicate records.

Hi Corrine!

Try visiting:

Chip Pearson:
http://www.cpearson.com/excel/duplicat.htm#

All that you probably need for handling unique and duplicate record
problems. Also, it's worth going down to the bottom of the page and
clicking on Topic Index as the Topic page will be a useful one to make
a favorite.

assuming you are merging two databases in Excel into one:
do that first, then
extract the database into a second sheet using the
Data - Advanced Filter selection, but select the "Unique
records only" option which will filter out duplicates.
