Default Bullets Setting

How do I change the default settings for bullets? I am
using Word 2002. I checked "Help," but could not find
the answer.

I would like the 1st Level to tab at 0.25 and 2nd level
at 0.5, and the 1st Level to be a dot; 2nd level an em
dash. Can we set the deault so that each time I use
bullets, these are the settings?

I hope I explained this correctly.

Thank you for your expertise and hard work.

Create an outline numbered list using the List Bullet and List Bullet 2
styles (most of the work has already been done for you, since the indents
are already correct), following the instructions at
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html. Save the
modified styles to Normal.dot. Ctrl+Shift+L will apply the List Bullet
style, and Alt+Shift+Right Arrow will change List Bullet to List Bullet 2
provided you have properly linked these styles to your numbering formats as
Shauna describes.

Note that you will *not* be able to apply/remove these styles using the
Bullets button on the toolbar, which applies the current bullet default.
Although you can modify that format, Word 2002 doesn't seem to be capable of
saving it as a default.
