Default Contacts Folder

In Outlook 2000, I was able to create a link to our shared contacts folder (public folder) in the far left hand pane (Outlook Shortcuts). In Outlook 2003, I want to replace 'Contacts' on the bottom left pane with the shared public folder contacts. I.e users do not use the default 'Contacts' folder. Outlook 2003 is dissapointing, not letting me do what I've done before. WHY DO THEY MUCK AROUND WITH IT.... Or am I missing something?

Change isn't always for the better...you probably can do
it, but not having access to Outlook 2003 I can't really
help with this one...but I'd start by looking at the
options you get when you right click in the areas you want
buttons\shortcuts...

You can add the public contacts folder by browsing to it r-click->
properties-> tab Outlook Address Book and check the option to diplay it as
an Outlook Address Book. Now when you switch to the Contacts navigation you
can select the folder there.

Note that you can also add a shortcut to the folder by using the Shortcuts
Navigation and create shortcuts to the folder you would like to see.
