Default dictionary for spelling check

I am using Office 2007. The default dictionary appears to be American
English. Can someone advise me how to change to British English even though
when I open an incoming file who originally uses American English.

You can change the default dictionary in office Button > Popular > Language
settings

HOWEVER this won't change the setting for presentations made in a different
language.
