Default "find" form?

Hello,

I have set all the contacts in my database to a custom form - using
the helpfully suggested "formsadmin" and "changeforms" methods from
this group - thanks again!

Now all the contacts display as I wish but when I use the search
dialog, the 'found' contact is displayed with the outlook default
contact form - even though it is 'stored' in the database in the
customised form.

Anyone know how to change the default 'find' form?

No, I do not believe you can change the find display feature. The find
object is private to the Outlook application, and not accessible to
programmers.

Just to clear up a point of error, your items are not 'stored' in the
infostore with your customized form. The data item is stored
separately from its form, unless it has one-offed. The Messageclass
field is used to hold the name of the form you want to be used to
display the form. However, it is nowhere cast in concrete that is the
only form that can be used to display the form. If fact, that would be
a bad idea--if you screw up the form in some strange way so that it
can't be used, then you would loose your data item, also. That would
not be a good thing.

I've been using the same custom form in Outlook 2000,
2002, and now 2003. When using 2003 doesn't display the
custom form when using the full search. However if you use
the quick search in the toolbar it does. This is the first
version where I've seen this behaviour. This makes me
think it's a bug, or maybe a new "feature".
