Default Font Failure

Dev

I am running Microsoft Word 2000 under Windows XP Professional.
I cannot get my choice of font for a default to work. I go through the
process of choosing and clicking on "default", the font shows on new
documents, but when I begin typing the font reverts to 'Times New
Roman'. The font is a 'true type' font called 'Black Chancery. I can
highlight and re-font data with no problem, but cannot type with it.

I'm going nuts with this, please help.

I had a weird font problem on a computer and it related to the printer
driver. Any chance that could be your problem?
