Default formatting of comments

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

Is there any way to change the default formatting of comments in Excel 2008? The default includes my name and the comment text in bold. I want neither of these. Can I turn them off?

I tried setting my user name to a blank in the general preferences, but excel doesn't seem to allow that.
