A
anovak
I've been going through the Project Server 2003 Admin guide attempting
to ensure that all of my group permissions are set as they are
out-of-the-box. I don't recall making more than just a couple of
changes, but...
For both Project Manager and Resource Manager groups, there is an
inconsistency between what is listed in the guide as default settings
and which "allow" checkboxes are automatically checked when you select
the appropriate template (I know I didn't change any of the templates).
This doesn't happen for the other groups and the Global Permissions
are in sync and in line for ALL groups, including these two mentioned
here.
My $20,000 question is for each of these which is the "gospel", the
Admin Guide or the Template in the system?
----PROJECT MANAGER
Template
-------------
Build team on project
Create new task or assignment
Delete project
Open project
Save project
See enterprise resource data
See projects in project center
See projects in project views
See resources assignments in assignment views
View risks, issues, and documents
MS Project Server 2003 Admin Guide
------------------------------------------------------
Assign resources
See enterprise resource data
----RESOURCE MANAGER
Template
-------------
Create new task or assignment
See projects in project center
View risks, issues, and documents
MS Project Server 2003 Admin Guide
------------------------------------------------------
Approve timesheets for resources
Thanks,
Andy
