Yes and no.
Yes it is possible. No you don't want to do this.
Why? Because adding a header/footer to your normal.dot template will have
undesirable consequences for labels etc.
Instead create a new document template - based on normal.dot and use that
for your standard documents. Copy the header/footer to other document
templates if required.
Use a CREATEDATE field to set the current date. Your name is .... well ....
your name!
