Default icons in Windows XP

Good morning! Might someone explain why the following is
happening? I run Windows XP Pro SP1, and enjoy customizing
my icons, specifically My Computer, Mt Documents, et. al.
When I turn off, or even in one instance reset, my
computer, the icons return to their default setting. To
expedite this, I have created a theme, and simply restore
it when necessary; but am I right in assuming this
shouldn't be so? I tried to find related material in the
Knowledge Base, but the closest I came was Article 310192,
part of which states "You cannot customize the default
icon for a folder in Windows...", but didn't think it
pertained specifically to my problem. Any information or
assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Regards,

Jeff

You have posted your question to a newsgroup devoted to Microsoft Access,
the database development product.

Suggest you post it to one of the groups for Windows XP, perhaps:

microsoft.public.windowsxp.configuration_manage
